Snow Leopard Cub playing so adorable

Exciting news from the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo — their precious snow leopard cub officially has a name: Sameera! The name was announced to much celebration from zookeepers and visitors alike, and it perfectly matches the cub’s playful and spirited personality. Sameera, a name of Sanskrit origin meaning "breeze" or "gentle wind," is a fitting tribute to the cub’s graceful presence and the majestic nature of snow leopards in the wild.

Born just a few months ago, Sameera has already captured the hearts of zoo staff and guests with her playful antics and curious nature. She has been seen tumbling around her habitat, chasing her tail, and pouncing on toys — all under the watchful eyes of her mother, Sombra. Her fluffy coat, bright eyes, and boundless energy make her a favorite among visitors, especially children who can’t get enough of her adorable play sessions.

Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is known for its conservation efforts and is a proud participant in the Snow Leopard Species Survival Plan, helping to protect this endangered species. The birth of Sameera is not only a joyful event for the zoo but also a meaningful step toward the preservation of snow leopards worldwide.

Guests can now visit the zoo to see Sameera exploring her habitat, climbing rocks, and engaging in all the typical behaviors of a healthy, thriving snow leopard cub. Don’t forget your camera — she’s a natural star!

As Sameera grows, she will no doubt continue to inspire awe and raise awareness about the importance of wildlife conservation. For now, she’s simply enjoying her cubhood — and playing in the most adorable way possible.
