Magotho Campsite lies in the heart of the Khwai Community Concession, just outside the famous Okavango Delta.   Barry is a unique lion. Born on July 30, 2007, he is now 18 years old (old for a lion). Barry is a legendary lion at Tobe Zoo, having lived with many female lions, including Garnet, Daisy, Sakura, Lilihana, and Lily. In fact, he also spent time with Kantaro at one point. His younger sister Lily, with whom he had grown close, passed away on November 25, 2024, and Barry is now living alone. Barry was sleeping comfortably with his tongue out. He was also seen gazing sleepily at us. He had moved around several times to change his nap spot. Although he is an elderly lion, he still has a sure gait.   This woman saw a cat being made fun of online for his appearance. So she decided to go and find him. When she did, she offered him some snacks, but it seems he was in tremendous pain and couldn't eat. He didn't struggle when she took him into her carriage. Maybe he knew she was trying to save him. When the kennel got there, he got in right away without hesitation. It's amazing how animals can sense whether you are a good person. He must have felt safe with her. She didn't mind him getting her home all dirty. As long as he felt comfortable. The next day, she took him to the hospital. The treatment was expensive but seeing how grateful he was to be alive and how much he fights, she knew it was worth it. Sometimes cats don't want to fight anymore and that's okay too. He's happy to finally have a home after an entire life on the street.

  This kitten was stuck inside a pipe after falling in. He was compeltely soaked and had been crying out for his mom. His mom always stuck nearby but she couldn't do anything. Thankfully, nearby residents heard the cries all night and call in the professionals to help him. They rushed to the scenes and immediately spotted the kitten. So they used a rope to get the kitten up. Tying the rope around his neck. He screamed the entire time. Probably terrified and cold. He was so skinny when they finally got him. They were going to take him to the vet for a checkup but they saw his mother who had been watching. So they returned the kitten. He probably has other siblings elsewhere and they don't want to separate the family. Now the kitten doing fine and probably getting all the milk he was missing.

  This orange kitten was found abandoned crawling on her front legs. People stopped by and left because even though they felt bad for him, they couldn't do anything. Eventually, a kind man stopped by and they gave him some food. He immediately started eating. However, his stomach was so large that they began to suspect there must have been some internal injuries too. As they were taking him away an old lady stopped by and told them that "it's just a cat" not understanding why they should save him. She knew who abandoned the kitten but won't tell them who. He was abandoned when he got injured. His spine was injured causing problems with peeing so they have to sqeeze the pee out.   While driving through a rural area, we found a stray dog lying on the roadside near an abandoned factory. He was weak, cold, and starving, with matted fur and sad eyes. We gave him food, comforted him, and he slowly approached us. Seeing his condition, we decided to help. We trimmed nearly 6 kg of tangled, dirty fur from his body at a nearby park, revealing wounds caused by insects living in his coat. We wanted to get him proper medical care, but the closest pet hospital was 3 hours away. A local resident helped us find one, and we took him there. At the hospital, the vet removed the remaining 5 kg of dirty fur, treated his wounds, cleaned his ears, gave him a warm bath, and prescribed medicine for his skin and eyes. The doctor also gave him a warm coat since he had no fur left to keep warm. We camped nearby to care for him and bought all the food and supplies he needed. Each day, we followed the doctor’s instructions, fed him, gave him medicine, and took him for walks....
